6. Turn off the vaporizer in position 1.
5.7.4 Vaporizer Accuracy Test
1. Connect the sampling tee of the Calibrated Gas Analyzer to the ACGO port.
2. Use a breathing hose to connect the output of the sampling tee to the scavenger.
3. Verify that the scavenging system is connected to the wall and the float is between the
minimum and maximum scales.
4. Install a vaporizer and add anesthetic agent (if necessary).
5. Turn on the anesthesia machine
6. Set the machine to ACGO mode.
7. Set the O2 flow to 2 L/min.
8. Adjust the output concentration of the vaporizer as follows: 0 (isoflurane, sevoflurane and
desflurane), 1.0% and 3.0% (isoflurane and sevoflurane) , 5.0% (isoflurane, sevoflurane and
desflurane), 8% (sevoflurane and desflurane), 12% and 18% (desflurane). Observe the
monitored value of the Gas Analyzer to check whether its accuracy meets the requirement.
9. Test each vaporizer in sequence.
