Work environment and settings
For the space requirements described in the document to apply to your robot, the following
conditions must be met:
• The floor is level, dry, and clean.
• The robot is clean an well maintained.
• The air is clean (little dust, no gas, standard humidity).
• There is no load on the robot.
• No external devices or top modules are mounted on the robot.
• There is enough friction between the robot and the floor to prevent the wheels from
spinning.
• The walls and objects around the robot are opaque, matte, and at least 300 mm high.
• There is no light interference that can affect the robot sensors, such as direct sunlight.
• The robot is traveling at the default speed.
The dimensions may also be applicable in environments that do not meet the
above descriptions.
Be aware that even if you do fulfill the conditions above, your robot may still need more
space to operate correctly. It is very important to test each robot operation during
commissioning to determine if there is sufficient space. Keep the following points in mind:
NOTICE
The areas where the robot picks up and places carts must be marked as
operating hazard zones. While the robot is executing these maneuvers,
determine how large the operating hazard zones must be so the edge is
always one meter from the robot when it is picking up or placing carts or
turning around a corner while towing a cart.
Pick up a cart
When preparing to pick up a cart, the robot moves in front of the given cart position so the
center of the robot is 1.7 m from the center of the cart position. The robot turns around and
