16. Lift the oil pump drive chain and install the oil pump.
17. Install dowel pins (Item 10) into oil pump mounting
holes.
18. Install the three bolts (Item 13) that retain oil pump
(Item 12) to the crankcase. Torque mounting bolts to
specification.
Oil Pump Mounting Bolts:
7 ft-lbs (10 Nm)
19. Reinstall oil pump pick-up (Item 11). Torque
mounting screws to specification.
Oil Pump Pick-Up Retaining Screws:
7 ft-lb (10 Nm)
20. Clean the gasket sealing surfaces on oil sump cover
and crankcase to remove old gasket material and
any oil.
NOTE: Gasket surfaces must be DRY and oil
free. Use care upon assembly to keep oil away.
