29.Cut the cable tie

and disconnect the T-MAP sensor
harness connector

30.Cut the cable tie of the routing clip

securing the
stator wiring harness and throttle cable to the air box.
31.Loosen the two gear clamps

securing the air box to
the throttle body.
32.Carefully remove the air box.
NOTICE
If removal is difficult and additional space is needed,
remove the ignition coils from the air box assembly.
33.Remove the two lower steering post bushing
fasteners

, steering post bushings

, and bushing
spacers.
34.Remove the exhaust valve assembly.
a. Do not remove the actuator cable

off of the
actuator pin. The cable will remain installed.
b. Remove the four exhaust valve base fasteners

retaining the electronic variable exhaust system.
c. Turn the handlebar to the right.
