4. Manually rotate the lead screw of the chassis assembly until the focus/magnification target
is properly positioned (Figure 3-9) in the viewing area of the slide scanner.
Note: Figure 3-8 displays an expanded Red waveform after the target is inserted.
The oscilloscope time base settings are adjusted to view only the Red portion
of the VSP output.

5. Examine the Red channel output of image produced by the target. Figure 3-10 shows
the left side of the target (Figure 3-9, points 1, 2, 3) and the right side of the target
(Figure 3-9, points 4, 5, 6).
The left and right sides of the target are intensified and displayed so that we can see if
they are of equal amplitude. When 1 & 3 equals 4& 6 the slide scanner is focused
correctly.
