The “Gates Carbon Drive™" mobile app is used to measure the belt tension sonically using
the belt vibration frequency (Hz). Pluck the belt like a guitar string to create the belt vibration
sound wave and a smart phone running the “Gates Carbon Drive™" app to measure the
sound wave and compute the resultant belt tension vibration frequency (in Hz), see Gates®
Carbon Drive Mobile™ App.

Procedure
The Drive belt tension will be adjusted first by adjusting the position of the Drive pulley and
then the Step-up belt will be tensioned sonically in terms of belt vibration frequency (Hz)
using the “Gates Carbon Drive™" mobile app, see Gates® Carbon Drive Mobile™ App.
