This procedure provides instruction to replace the Crankarm Assembly.
Procedure
Review entire procedure before starting.
WARNING:Care must be taken when work is being performed in the area of the
stairarms. Pinch points exist between the stairarm and ramp and between the
stairarm and crankarm, when the rear covers are removed.
Removal
1. Switch the power OFF and unplug
1
the power cord.
2. Remove these rear drive covers: the drive cover access panel, top, left, and right
drive covers (see "Covers and Panels Replacement" on page75).
3. Remove the left and right stairarms from the crankarms.
4. Use a 1/2” socket to remove the crankarm mounting bolt and washer. Discard and do
not reuse the bolt and washer.
CAUTION:Discard and do not reuse the crankarm mounting bolt and washer.
Using worn hardware could allow the crankarm to loosen damaging the input drive
assembly and crankarm.
5. Use a Pitman Arm Puller or 4"-6" gear puller to remove the crankarm. Do not use a
hammer or mallet to remove the crankarm.
6. Repeat procedure to remove the opposite side crankarm.
1
