Exchange user-replaceable parts
a To replace the syringe seal
1 Remove the seal piece, press piece, spring, and retaining screw from the
plunger. Discard the seal piece.
2 Wipe the plunger with a gauze square soaked in 70% isopropyl alcohol to
remove any debris, followed by a gauze square soaked in distilled or
deionized water.
3 Ensure that the retaining screw, spring and press piece are properly
positioned on the plunger. Place the new seal on the plunger and check
that the rounded end is facing downwards.
4 Place the plunger back in the syringe holder with the syringe vertically
oriented. Tighten the retaining screw with the spanner wrench until the
screw is snug with the syringe holder.

Do not overtighten the syringe retaining screw.
