Replace syringe seals
A worn seal piece allows liquid to leak, thereby affecting the accuracy of the
pipetted volumes. It is recommended that the Sample- and Wash-syringe seals
be changed every three months.
Roche Technical Support will replace these seals during scheduled
maintenance visits. For additional replacements between scheduled
maintenance visits, follow the procedure below.
Materials required are:
Unplug the analyzer when changing the seals on the syringes.
Any component that comes into contact with sample fluids is potentially
biohazardous, and should be handled in an appropriate manner. Wear clean
protective gloves when changing Syringe seals.
m S-syringe seal m Gauze squares
m W-syringe seal m Distilled or deionized water
m Spanner wrench m 70% isopropyl alcohol
m Absorbent towels
The gauze absorbs liquid that drains from the tubing as it is disconnected.
