Calibration
Specific gravity (SG) calibration
The specific gravity of the sample changes with temperature. Since the
URISYS 2400 analyzer measures the temperature of the flow cell, there may be
a difference in temperature between the sample and the flow cell. Therefore,
the temperature of the urine sample and the calibration solutions must always
be at room temperature.
a To prepare the calibration solutions
Use deionized water and reagent-grade NaCl to prepare the following
solutions, and place them in a rack:
Set the rack on the input line.
a To calibrate the SG meter
1 Press <Menu> on the [Routine Monitor] screen. The [Menu] screen is
displayed.
2 Press <Tools>. The [Tools] screen is displayed.
3 Press <User Calibration>. The [User Calibration] screen is displayed.
4 Press <SG Calibration>. The [SG Calibration] screen is displayed.
5 Press <Calibrate>. The [SG Calibration] window appears.
6 Press <Execute>.
Sample analysis can start even if the SG calibration is unsuccessful. If SG
calibration is unsuccessful, the previous calibration values are used.
Positions 1 and 3 Deionized water
Positions 2 and 4 NaCl solution 10.0 g/dL
Position 5 NaCl solution 5.0 g/dL
After the calibration process is completed, “Calibration OK” or “Calibr. Failed” is
displayed on the [SG Calibration] screen. If “Calibr. Failed” is displayed, repeat the
SG calibration.
