Glossary URISYS 2400
Host computer - Qualitative determination
Roche Diagnostics
G-2 Operators Manual · Version 1.0
Host computer A central computer that
communicates with the URISYS 2400 receiving
sample results from the analyzer.
Host connection The connection (via a cable)
between the analyzer and the host computer. The
operator can either activate or deactivate this
connection, as required.
ITF A barcode type for sample tubes and racks that
can be read by the barcode reader.
Light-emitting diode (LED) A semiconductor
that emits light of a defined wavelength.
Maintenance procedures Procedures that must
be performed on a regular basis for example daily,
weekly, monthly, or every three months to secure
reliable operation of the analyzer.
Menus Parts of the software program that serve for
dedicated user operations, for example, setting of
parameters.
Message (alarm) Information on the touch
screen of sample or test strip errors, or reasons for
the analyzer stopping.
Nomogram Correlation function between
quantities. In the URISYS 2400 analyzer, the
refraction/gravity function used to convert the
measured refraction values into specific gravity
results.
NW7 A barcode type for sample tubes that can be
read by the barcode reader.
Operation status The analyzer processes samples
in this status. Additional samples can be loaded and
measured without an intermediate stop of the
analyzer.
Parallel interface The interface (Centronics type)
through which the analyzer can be connected to an
external printer.
Parameters System and analysis configurations
that can be set individually (and stored) according
to customer requirements if they deviate from the
default factory settings.
Parameter-specific reflectance values
Reflectance ranges stored in the analyzer that are
used to convert the reflectance values of each test
pad into semi-quantitative concentration results.
Password-protected See Special functions.
Photodiode detector A photometer component
that receives the reflected light.
Photometer An optical device (measuring head)
that measures the intensity of reflected light of each
test pad.
Print mode Software function in the [Start
Condition] screen to select the category of results
(all, abnormal, sieve, or normal) to be printed in
real time.
Qualitative determination The measurement of
analytes or features with descriptive (qualitative)
result classifications such as negative/positive, clear/
turbid, or yellow, amber and so on.
