8.4 Diagnosis
8.4.1 Temperature diagnosis
Temperature diagnosis can be activated in the Diagnosis menu, menu number503.
The temperature controller checks whether the actual temperature is within an ad-
justable tolerance range ("OK window") above and below the setpoint temperature.
The low (Δϑ
low
) and high (Δϑ
high
) tolerance limits can be changed independently of one
another in the Diagnosis menu, menu numbers501, 502 (default: -10K or +10K).
If the ACTUAL temperature is within the specified tolerance range when the START
signal is activated, the temperature diagnosis is activated as well. If the ACTUAL tem-
perature leaves the tolerance range, the corresponding error code (307, 308) appears
and the alarm relay is switched; refer to section Error messages [}84].

Illustration20: Temperature diagnosis
If the actual temperature does not exceed the low tolerance limit or fall below the high
tolerance limit, the corresponding error code (309, 310) appears and the alarm relay is
switched. Temperature diagnosis was not switched on until the START signal was de-
activated.
When temperature diagnosis is switched on, an additional delay for temperature toler-
ance can be set within the range 0...9 sec in the Diagnosis menu, menu num-
ber504.
The first time the value exceeds the low tolerance limit, temperature diagnosis is not
activated until the configured delay time has elapsed. The temperature diagnosis func-
tion can thus be selectively deactivated, e.g. if the temperature drops when the sealing
jaws are closed.
8.4.2 Heatup timeout
An additional heatup timeout can be activated in the Diagnosis, menu, menu num-
ber505.
Default
• Heatup timeout off (default)
Heatup timeout is activated when the START signal is activated. The temperature
controller monitors the time that it takes for the actual temperature to reach 95% of
the setpoint temperature. If this time is longer than the configured time, the corre-
sponding error code (304) appears and the alarm relay switches; refer to section .
