Setting
Do not make this setting until the sealing parameters (temperature and cooling time)
for production mode have been determined. To determine the optimal working param-
eters without impediment, the start temperature should be set to approx. 50% of the
sealing temperature for the trial run.
8.4.5 Temperature tolerance
When an external sensor is connected, the temperature controller can monitor a tem-
perature.
Example
The following temperatures can be monitored.
• Machine temperature
• Cooling circuit temperature
• Heating element temperature (no temperature control, only monitoring)
The source of the diagnosis temperature is set in the Diagnosis menu, menu num-
ber508. The following settings are possible:
• External (setpoint) (analog input, terminals36+39)
When the external (setpoint) setting is used, the analog input no longer serves as
specification of the sealing temperature. In this case the sealing temperature is set
in the Settings menu, menu number101.
• External (CH1) (terminals 39+40)
• OFF
Temperature tolerance is not active.
Diagnosis temperature
The minimum and maximum diagnosis temperatures are set in the Diagnosis menu,
menu number509 and menu number510.
If the temperature controller detects a temperature below the minimum diagnosis tem-
perature or above the maximum diagnosis temperature, an error is shown. If a sealing
cycle is in progress, it is canceled.
The temperature tolerance is activated 3sec after the temperature controller is
switched on.
8.4.6 Cycle counter
Activations of the START signals during operation are compiled by a cycle counter in
the temperature controller. The number of times Manual is pressed is counted only
when pressing Manual triggers a sealing cycle (Operation, menu, menu num-
ber206).
The counter is shown in the Information menu, menu number601.
Resetting cycle
counter
To reset the cycle counter to0, proceed as follows:
1. Press Enter.
2. Press Down.
3. Press Enter.
ð The cycle counter is reset to0.
Exceeding counting
range
When the counting range of 999,999,999 is exceeded, the counter continues with0
when counting the next cycle.
8.5 Adjusting operation
8.5.1 Configuring the Manual button
The function of the Manual button can be configured in the Operation menu, menu
number206.
The following settings are possible:
