8.4.3 Closing time monitoring
Closing time monitoring can be activated in the Diagnosis, menu, menu num-
ber507. This monitors the time between when an external switch closes and the
START signal is activated.
Error message
Error code835 appears when the set closing time is exceeded.
Typical application
Closing of the heat-sealing band is triggered via an external switch, in conjunction with
relayK1, relayK2 or outputA1. The heat-sealing band triggers the START signal us-
ing a mechanical switch. Closing time monitoring can detect e.g. a mechanical prob-
lem.
8.4.4 Maximum start temperature
The desired maximum start temperature can be set in the Diagnosis menu, menu
number506. This temperature is the maximum actual value permitted when the tem-
perature controller is started. This value is recorded by the temperature controller at
the beginning of each pulse and then compared to the value set in menu506.
The feature is intended to monitor the cooling circuit.

Illustration22: Maximum start temperature
When the cooling system is working properly, cooling progresses as shown by
curve1). If there is an error in the cooling system, cooling progresses as shown by
curve2), because the water is no longer being cooled. The value set in this menu can
then no longer be exceeded. In this case, the temperature controller ignores the next
heatup command. The error code305 appears and the alarm relay is switched; refer
to sectionError messages [}84]. This prevents damage to the UPZ sealing bar.
Setting range
The setting range is limited by the maximum temperature specified in the Heating
element menu, menu number306 or the temperature range set in the Heating el-
ement menu, menu number 305.
