2.7 THE ALARMS MENU
Figure 15 - The Alarms Menu
The InSpec controller has 60 configurable alarms. For each application (InSpec Sampler or
InSpec Blender), there will be a set of default system alarms. These are alarms that are considered very
common/useful for the general process. You may wish to keep and use these alarms; simply disable or
edit the way they work or even delete them form the list of alarms. There are still many empty slots in
the alarm table for you to create new alarms from scratch.
The Alarms menu now has 5 options – ‘Display Alarms’, ‘Config Alarms’, ‘Delete Config
Al’, ‘Scroll Setup’ and ‘Alarm Output’. The operator can only display the alarms. An engineer can
display and configure the Alarms. Selecting the ‘Display Alarms’ options or pressing the down cursor
key on the front panel when you are not in the menu brings up the alarm page as follows:

The Alarm display page shows all the current active alarms. The configurable alarm title is
shown on the top line. To the bottom left a similar X/Y indicator is used to show how many alarms are in
the current page and which alarm you are currently on. To the right of this is the label indicating
whether the alarm is acknowledged or unacknowledged. Alarms will be displayed if they are active and
unacknowledged, still active and acknowledged or inactive but still unacknowledged from a previous
trigger condition.
