SECTION 15: RESTORING CONFIGURATION
BACKUPS
Backups of the instrument software, registers and configuration files can be easily restored from the
InSpec start up system menu or, if configured, you can do this from the web interface.
The InSpec system menu is accessed by powering the instrument on while holding down the delete key.
Then the “enter username” option should be selected. This will display a list of engineer level users who can
access this menu. A user should be selected followed by entering the correct user password. Upon which the
system menu will be displayed. To restore a previous backup simply select the option “system restore”. A list of
previous backups are then listed via a year, month, day, batch path. You must select the year, month, day and
time of the backup that you wish to restore. Once a backup has been selected, you are asked to confirm that you
want to restore this backup.
To perform a restore via the web interface you simply enter the advanced settings page and browse to
the previous backup image from the backup and restore section of the advanced settings page.
NOTE: The bootloader is not restored through this process as it is a dangerous operation,
however a copy is made during the backup process. The bootloader should only be restored following
the advice of Jiskoot, where it can be accomplished from the shell command line.
