InSpec Sampler Controller SECTION 16: SYSTEM START UP MENU
81
16.10 FORMAT SD CARD
This item wipes the BBRAM. Any configuration values/settings will be lost as a result. Upon exiting the
system menu, the System folder and report template files will be recreated. Note if you format the SD card you
will lose all the current users and the InSpec will default back to having just the 3 default users Jiskoot,
Operator & Engineer.
16.11 STARTUP CTRL
This feature allows individual tasks to be started up once the system menu is exited. If this item is
selected an internal flag is set and on exiting the system menu you will be asked whether you wish to start each
task (Serial0, Serial1, Serial2, Serial3 & Maths). The Maths task is the APP task as shown in the previous TASK
command output example.
16.12 CLEAR REG CHECK
When the InSpec starts up it checks internally to see whether the S_COMPILED_DATE_TIME register
has changed since the last reboot. If it has changed the software has been modified and it is necessary to wipe
BBRAM and default the registers before continuing. The ‘Clear Reg Check’ option allows you to overrule this
check. This prevents Jiskoot engineer’s having to zap the instrument when the software has been changed. This
is useful when there are no register changes between versions and we wish to test the new software with a
previous configuration.
16.13 REGISTER EDITOR
See Register section 2.5 for a description of what this item does. It is a duplication of the register
access screen in the full menu. It has been included in the system menu to allow an engineer to amend a register
value before starting the sampler. A fully authorised engineer may prefer to use the software command line via
Windows hyper terminal tool to amend and change registers.
16.14 SYSTEM BACKUP
Selecting and confirming this item initiates the saving of the entire instrument configuration to a time
stamped folder in the backup directory on the root of the SD card. Within the specific backup folder, three folders
are created containing the following data:
CSDATA CONFIG.TXT, CONFIG.CSV. CONFIG.CAL.CONFIG.BIN
SYSTEM REPORT_TEMPLATE.TXT, REPORT_TEMPLATE.HTM,
USRS.BIN, REGLOG.CSV, SECLOG.CSV, REBOOTLOG.CSV
(Note the contents of the System folder will vary)
IMAGES BOOTLOADER.IMG, APPLICATION.IMG
16.15 SYSTEM RESTORE
Selecting this item results in having to browse to a selected restore folder in the backup directory on the
SD card. Once you have selected a time stamped folder from this directory and confirmed your decision to
restore the instrument configuration the restore process will begin. This takes a little time to execute.
