SECTION 22: INSTALLATION DETAILS
This instrument is designed for the following: -
• Equipment Class I
• Installation Categories
o AC Power Inlet – Installation Category II
o Relay Outputs – Installation Category III
• Pollution Degree 2
22.1 GENERAL
Ensure that: -
✓ the instrument is mounted at eye level for ease of use;
✓ ventilation is provided;
✓ the operating environment fulfils the requirements of section 25.1.
Avoid: -
mounting the unit in direct sunlight;
dusty areas;
heavy moisture and prolonged condensation;
temperature extremes;
mechanical vibration and shock.
22.2 LOCATION
The instrument is designed for use in a dry and ventilated indoor environment, where neither explosive
atmosphere or flammable materials exist.
The instrument must be mounted so that the front panel is only accessible by trained operators and the
rear of the instrument by trained service/installation engineers.
22.3 MOUNTING
The instrument is designed to be mounted into a control panel, which must have the correct size cut-out – See

At least 250mm clear space is required to the rear to allow for cable routing.
The recommended panel thickness for mounting the InSpec is 3mm or more (The latches that fix the unit into a
panel can accommodate panel thicknesses of 1mm to 8mm).
