Configuring the measuring sections
Startup
Note the following parameters when configuring the measuring section:
• Parameters of the measuring section
You can choose "linear" or "rotary" as the measuring section.
• Units of the measuring section
For a linear measuring section, you can choose "mm/s" or "m/s" as the unit for speed.
For a rotatory measuring section, you can choose "rev/s" or "rev/min" as the unit for
speed.
The selected resolution should correspond to the physics of the measuring section
to prevent rounding problems in the configuration.
• Position processing
The position processing of the DCS..B option can be selected by enabling the
"Activate" checkbox. The measuring length determines the permitted position range
for position processing. It is important that the present position of the drive is within
the measuring length window. If this position range is left, the DCS..B option switches
off and issues alarm A3307. The measuring length has a range of 1 - 1 000 000 and
is normalized with the unit specified for the measuring section. "Encoder 2" is
automatically defined as absolute encoder. If position processing is disabled, only
monitoring functions with velocity processing are permitted for parameter setting.
This means monitoring functions with position processing are disabled in the
MOVISAFE
®
Assist/Config software.
