smoother waveforms on the screen. This is generally used when the sample rate of the
digital converter is higher than the storage rate of the acquisition memory.
Eres mode can be used on both single- shot and repetitive signals and it does not slow
waveform update. This mode limits the oscilloscope's real- time bandwidth because it
effectively acts like a low- pass filter.
Note: “Average” and “Eres” modes use different averaging methods. The former uses
“Waveform Average” and the latter uses “Dot Average”.
