4.5L/minute(1.2gallons/minute)ormorethroughasinglestationaryrear
wheelmotorunderloadindicatesaninternalleakinthewheelmotor.Aworn
wheelmotorislessefcient.Eventually,enoughuidbypasswillcausethe
wheelmotortostallunderheavyloadconditions.Continuedoperationcan
generateexcessiveheat,causedamagetothesealsandothercomponentsin
thehydraulicsystem,andaffectoverallmachineperformance.
Therearemomentsduringwheelmotoroperation(gerollerposition)whenuid
owthroughthemotorislessrestricted.Ifawheelmotoristestedinthisposition,
thetestresultswillbehigherandshouldnotbeusedtodeterminewheelmotor
efciency.Testthewheelmotorsin3differentwheelpositionstoobtainaccurate
testresults.Recordthetestreadingsforallthe3wheelpositions.Intheforward
direction,hydraulicuidowsthroughbothfrontwheelmotors(inparallel)before
passingthroughtherearwheelmotorontheoppositesideofthemachine.In
thereversedirection,hydraulicowbypassestherearwheelmotors.Startby
testingthefrontwheelmotorscombined,thentestthefrontwheelorrearwheel
motorsindividuallyasnecessary.

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfacewiththereelengageswitchoff,lowerthe
cuttingunits,shutofftheengine,andsettheparkingbrake.

3.EnsurethatthetractionpedaliscorrectlyadjustedfortheNEUTRALposition;
refertotheOperator’sManual.
4.Attachaheavychaintotherearofthemachineframeandanimmovable
objecttopreventthemachinefrommovingduringtesting.
TestingtheFrontWheelMotor
Hydraulicuidowsthroughbothfrontwheelmotors(inparallel)beforepassing
throughtherearwheelmotor(inseries).Toaccuratelytestthefrontwheel
motors,therearwheelmotormustberemovedfromthetractioncircuit.
1.Warmoilaftertestequipmentisconnectedtopreventtechnicianfrom
workingonahotmachine—applicabletotestswhenpossible(anytestthat
requiresanopenun-pluged/cappedline(casedraintests)wouldnotapply
andoilshouldbewarmedbeforedisconnectingthelines).
