TheenginespeedswitchisusedonmachineswitheitheraYanmardiesel
engineorKubotagasolineengine.Theenginespeedswitchisusedasaninput
fortheTECtosignaltheengineECUviatheCAN-bustoincreaseordecrease
theenginespeed.Whentheswitchispressedandheldintheforwardposition,
theenginespeedwillincrease.Conversely,whentherearoftheswitchis
pressed,theenginespeedwilldecrease.Theenginespeedswitchislocatedon
thecontrolarm(Figure241).
TestingtheEngineSpeedSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Beforeyoudisconnecttheenginespeedswitchfortesting,ensurethatyou
testtheswitchanditscircuitwiringasTECinputwiththeInfoCenterdisplay;
refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting(page7–28).
3.IftheInfoCenterveriesthattheenginespeedswitchandcircuitwiringare
functioningcorrectly,nofurtherswitchtestingisnecessary.
4.IftheInfoCenterdeterminesthattheenginespeedswitchandcircuitwiring
arenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththetest.
5.Removethecontrolarmcoverstogetaccesstotheenginespeedswitch;
refertoDisassemblingtheControlArm(page8–23).
6.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition.Disconnectthewireharness
electricalconnectorfromtheenginespeedswitch.
