3.Removepumpdrivebelttensionfromtorsionspringonidlerarm(Figure66).
A.Insertnutdriverorsmallpieceofpipeontotheendofthetorsionspring
thatissecuredonthepumpmountplatetab.
B.Pushdownandforwardonthespringendtounhookthespringfrom
thetabonthepumpmountplate.
4.Rotateidlerpulleyawayfrompumpdrivebeltandremovedrivebeltfrom
pulleys.Makesurethatdrivebeltisingoodconditionifitistobere−installed.
Replacedrivebeltifwornordamaged.
5.Removedrivebeltidlercomponentsasneeded.
InstallingtheDriveBelt(Figure65)
1.Installallremoveddrivebeltidlercomponents.Makesurethattheidler
pulleyandidlerarmrotatefreelyafterassembly.
2.Installdrivebeltontopulleys.Positionidlerpulleytowardthepumpdrivebelt.
3.Usingastraightedgeacrossthelowerfaceofthepumppulley,verifypump
drivebeltalignmentacrossengineandpumppulleys.Ifpulleysarenotin
alignment,adjustlocationofpumppulleyonpumpshaftsoalignmentis
correct(seePistonPump/Hydrostat(page5–79)).
