IMPORTANT
Acasedrainexistsinthepistonpump/hydrostatandasuctionport
isneartheinputshaftofthegearpump(Figure69).Beforethegear
pumpisinstalledtothepistonpump,makesurethatplugsplacedin
eitheroftheseportsareremoved.Failuretoremoveplugswillcause
excessivepressureinthepistonpumpanddamageseals.Also,
beforeinstallinggearpumptopistonpump,llpistonpumphousing
withcleanhydraulicuidthroughcasedrainhole.
3.Installandsecuregearpumptothepistonpump(seeGearPump(page
5–88)).
4.Placekeyintopistonpumpshaftslot.Slidetaperlockbushingontothepiston
pumpshaftwithbushingangetowardpumphousing.
5.Makesurethattaperedsurfacesofpumppulleyandtaperlockbushingare
thoroughlyclean(nooil,grease,dirt,rust,etc.).
6.Positionpumppulleytotaperlockbushingandalignnon−threadedholesof
pulleywiththreadedholesofbushing.Looselyinstallthree(3)capscrews
withlockwasherstobushingandpulley.
CAUTION
Supportpumpassemblyduringinstallationtopreventthemfrom
fallingandcausingpersonalinjuryorcomponentdamage.
7.Positionpumpassemblytothemachine.Installfastenersandspacers
securingthepumpmountplatetotheengineandpumpsupport(Figure68).
Tightenfastenerssecurely.
8.Positionandsecurepumpsupporttopumpmountplate,pistonpumpand
enginemountwithremovedfastenersandspacers.
9.Installpumpdrivebelt(seeInstallingtheDriveBelt(Figure65)(page5–75)).
10.Usingastraightedgeacrossthelowerfaceofthepumppulley,verifypump
drivebeltalignmentacrossengineandpumppulleys.Slidepulleyandtaper
lockbushingonpumpshaftsothatdrivebeltandstraightedgearealigned
indicatingcorrectpositionofpumppulley.Securetaperlockbushingin
positionwithsetscrew.
IMPORTANT
Whentighteningtaperlockbushingcapscrews,tighteninthree(3)
equalstepsandinacircularpattern.
11.Securetaperlockbushingandpumppulleybytighteningthree(3)cap
screwstoatorquefrom10.2to13.6N·m(90to120in−lb)inthree(3)equal
stepsandinacircularpattern.
12.Checkthatpumpdrivebeltalignmentisstillcorrect.Ifneeded,loosenand
re−adjustpulleyandtaperlockbushinglocationonpumpshafttoallowfor
correctbeltalignment.
