Acasedrainexistsinthepistonpump/hydrostatandasuctionport
isneartheinputshaftofthegearpump(Figure74).Beforethe
gearpumpisinstalledtothepistonpump,makesurethattheplugs
placedineitheroftheseportsareremoved.Failuretoremoveplugs
willcauseexcessivepressureinthepistonpumpanddamageseals.
Also,beforeinstallinggearpumptopistonpump,llpistonpump
housingwithcleanhydraulicuidthroughcasedrainhole.
4.Removetheplugsthatwereplacedinpistonpumpcasedrainandgear
pumpsuctionport.Fillpistonpumphousingwithcleanhydraulicuidthrough
casedrainhole.
IMPORTANT
Thegearpumpsuctionttingmustbeonthesamesideasthe
trunnionofthepistonpump.
5.Aligngearteethandslidegearpumpinputshaftintopistonpumpcoupler.
Securegearpumptopistonpumpwithtwo(2)capscrewsandatwashers.
6.Removethecapsandplugsfromgearpumpttingsandhoses.Using
labelsplacedduringgearpumpremoval,properlyconnecthydrauliclines
topump(seeInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFaceSeal
Fittings)(page5–6)).
7.Fillthehydraulictankwithnewhydraulicuid.
8.Installthemufertotheengine(seeInstallingtheExhaustSystem(page
4–7)).
9.Properlyllhydraulicsystem(seeChargeHydraulicSystem(page5–69)).
