2.Jackuptherearofequipmentenoughtoallowtheremovaloftherearwheel.
3.Removetherearwheelassemblyfromthemachine;refertoRemovingthe
RearForkandWheel(page7–14).
4.Thoroughlycleanthehydraulichoseendsandrearwheelmotorttingsto
preventhydraulicsystemcontamination.
WARNING
Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkonthehydraulic
system,allpressureinthesystemmustberelieved.SeeRelieving
HydraulicSystemPressure(page5–3).
5.Disconnectthehydraulichosesfromttingsonwheelmotor.Plugthehose
openingstopreventcontamination.
6.Removefour(4)socketheadscrewsandlocknutsthatsecurerearwheel
motortorearfork.Removethewheelmotorwithwheelhubattachedfrom
therearfork.
7.Securethewheelhubinavise.Loosenbutdonotremovelocknutthat
securesthewheelhubtowheelmotor.
IMPORTANT
DONOThitwheelhub,wheelhubpullerorwheelmotorwitha
hammerduringwheelhubremovalorinstallation.Hammeringmay
causedamagetothewheelmotor.
8.Usinghubpuller(seeSpecialTools(page2–13)),loosenwheelhubfrom
wheelmotor.
9.Removethewheelhubandmotorfromvise.Removethelocknutandwheel
hubfrommotorshaft.Locateandretrievethewoodruffkey.
10.Ifhydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfromthewheelmotor,marktting
orientationtoallowcorrectassembly.DiscardtheO−ringsfromremoved
ttings.
InstallingtheRearWheelMotor(Figure80)
1.Ifttingswereremovedfromtherearwheelmotor,lubricateandplacenew
O−ringsontottings.Installthettingsintomotoropeningsusingmarks
madeduringtheremovalprocesstoproperlyorientatettings.Tighten
ttings(seeInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-Ring
Fittings)(page5–8)).
2.Thoroughlycleanthewheelmotorshaftandwheelhubtaper.
3.Lockthewheelhubinavise.Installwoodruffkeyintothewheelmotor
shaft.Slidethemotorshaftintohubandsecurewithlocknut.T orquelock
nutfrom345to372N·m(255to275ft−lb).Removethewheelmotorand
hubfromvise.
4.Positionthewheelmotorwithwheelhubattachedtotherearfork.Securethe
rearwheelmotortorearforkwithfour(4)socketheadscrewsandlocknuts.
