Removethevalveandsealkit.
3.Visuallyinspectthemanifoldportandcartridgevalvefordamagetosealing
surfaces,damagedthreads,andcontamination.
A.Contaminationmaycausevalvestostickorhangup,itcanbecome
lodgedinsmallvalveoricesorsealareascausingvalvemalfunction.
B.Ifsealingsurfacesappearpittedordamaged,thehydraulicsystemmay
beoverheatingortheremaybewaterinthesystem.
CAUTION
Useeyeprotectionsuchasgoggleswhenusingcompressedair.
4.Ifnecessary,cleancartridgevalveusingcleanmineralspirits.Submerge
valveincleanmineralspiritstoushoutcontamination.Particlesasneas
talcumpowdercanaffecttheoperationofhighpressurehydraulicvalves.
Cleananddrywithcompressedair.
5.Reinstallrotarycartridgevalveintomanifoldport:
A.LubricatenewO-ringsandbackupringsofsealkitwithcleanhydraulic
uidandinstall.TheO-ringsandbackupringsofsealkitmustbe
arrangedproperlyonthecartridgevalveforproperoperationandsealing.
IMPORTANT
Usecarewheninstallingcartridgevalves.Slightbendingor
distortionofthestemtubecancausebindingandmalfunction.
Makesurethatthedeepwellsocketfullyengagesthevalvebase.
B.Lubricatethreadsoncartridgevalvewithcleanhydraulicoil.Thread
rotarycartridgevalvecarefullyintothemanifoldport.Thevalveshould
goineasilywithoutbinding.T orquevalvewithdeepwellsocketto
specicationshowninmanifoldillustration.
6.Installrotaryhandle(manifoldshowninFigure89andFigure90):
A.Placehandlebaseonowcontrolvalveandpositionalignmentmarkon
basewithnumber1onmanifold.Securebasewithtwo(2)setscrews.
Applyalightcoatingofgreasetochamferontopofbasetoeaseseal
installation.
B.Makesurethatsleevebearingisinhandlecap.Ifnecessary,press
sleevebearingintocap.Installlipsealoncapwithseallipfacingdown.
C.Placebushingontocartridgevalvestem.Useasmallamountofgrease
tokeepbushingtowardthetopofthevalvestem.
D.Placecompressionspringanddetentpinintohandlecap.Useasmall
amountofgreasetoholddetentpininplace.
E.Makesurethatowcontrolvalveisclosedbyrotatingvalvestemfully
clockwise.Duringhandleinstallation,DONOTrotatevalvestemor
speedadjustmentwillbeincorrect.
