RemovingtheFrontWheelandBrake(continued)
CAUTION
Beforejackingupthemachine,reviewandfollowJacking
Instructions(page1–7).
2.Jackupfrontwheelandusewoodblockstokeepthereartireofftheoor.
3.Removethelugnuts(item17inFigure153)fromdrivestuds(18).Pullwheel
fromdrivestuds(18)andwheelhub(14).
Note:Theinstallationtorqueofthelocknut(16)isfrom345to372N·m
(255to275ft-lb).Useimpactwrenchtoremovelocknutfromthehydraulic
motorshaft.
4.Loosen,butdonotremove,locknut(16)fromthehydraulicmotorshaft.
Releaseparkingbrake.
IMPORTANT
Donothitwheelhub,wheelhubpullerorwheelmotorwithahammer
duringremovalorinstallation.Hammeringmaycausedamageto
thehydraulicwheelmotor.
5.Usingthehubpuller(refertoSpecialT ools(page2–13)),loosenwheelhub
(14)fromwheelmotor.
6.Removelocknut(16),hub,andbrakedrum(13)frommotorshaft.Locate
andretrievewoodruffkey.
7.Removecotterpin(21)fromtheadjustmentrod(22).Separateadjustment
rodfromthebrakelever(20).
Note:Thebrakelever,backingplate,retainingclip,returnsprings,brake
shoes,andcamshaftcanberemovedasacompletebrakeassembly.
8.Ifitisdesiredtoremovethebrakeassembly(11)fromthebrakebracket
(9),removefourbolts(19)andlocknuts(27)securingtheassemblytothe
bracket.
