RemovingtheRearForkandWheel
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingunits,stopengine,engage
parkingbrake,andremovekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removethehoodfromthemachine.
3.Separatethehydrauliccylinderfromtherearforkasfollows:
A.Removebothjamnutssecuringtheballjointtotherearfork.
B.Separatetheballjointfromtherearfork.
C.Swingcylinderclearoftherearfork.
CAUTION
Beforejackingupthemachine,reviewandfollowJacking
Instructions(page1–7).
4.Jackuprearwheelenoughtoallowtheremovaloftherearfork.
5.Removelugnutsfromdrivestuds.Removetirewithwheelrimfromwheel
hub.
6.Carefullyremovethedustcapfromthewheelhub.
7.Removeanddiscardthecotterpinfromthespindle.
8.Removethenutretainer,nut,andtabwasherthatsecurethewheelhubto
thespindle.Slidethewheelhubwiththebearingsfromthespindle.
9.Disassemblethewheelhubasfollows:
Note:Ensurethatyoudonotdamagethehubbore.
A.Removeanddiscardtheoilsealfromthewheelhub.
B.Removethebearingconesfrombothsidesofthewheelhub.Clean
theinnersurfaceofthewheelhub.
C.Cleanandinspectthewheelbearingcupsandcones.Checkthebearing
conesandcupsforwear,pitting,orotherdamage.Replacetheparts
thatarewornordamaged.
D.Ifnecessary,pressthedrivestudsfromthewheelhub.
10.Removefourlocknutsandsocketheadscrewssecuringthespindletothe
rearfork.Removethespindlefromthefork.
CAUTION
Supportthefrontforktopreventitsfallingduringremovaland
installation.Personalinjuryordamagetotheforkmayresultfrom
improperhandling.
11.Removethebolt,thrustwasherandlockwasherfromtherearforkshaft.
12.Lowertherearforkfrommachine.
13.Checkthebushingsforwearanddamage.Replaceifnecessary.
