InstallingtheRearForkandWheel
1.Ifremoved,installthebushingsintotherearfork.
2.Positiontherearforkthroughtheframe.
3.Installthelockwasher,thrustwasher,andbolttotherearforkshaft.Torque
theboltfrom81to108N·m(60to80ft−lb).Makesurethattheforkturns
freely.
4.Installthespindletotherearfork.Securethespindletotheforkwithfour
socketheadscrewsandlocknuts.
5.Assemblethewheelhubasfollows:
A.Ifthedrivestudswereremovedfromthewheelhub,pressthedrivestuds
fullyintothehub.Ensurethatthedrivestudsangeispressedfullyto
thehubsurface.
B.Ifthebearingcupswereremovedfromthewheelhub,presstheinner
andoutercupsintothewheelhubuntiltheyseatagainstthewheelhub
shoulder.
C.Fillthewheelhubapproximately50%fullofgrease.
D.Packbothbearingconeswithgrease.Installgreasedinnerbearingcone
intothecuponinboardsideofthewheelhub.
IMPORTANT
Theoilsealshouldbepressedinsothatitisushwiththeend
ofthewheelhub.Thelipoftheoilsealmustbetowardtheinner
bearing.
E.Lubricatetheinsideofnewoilsealandpressitintothewheelhub.
Note:Ensurethatyoudonotdamagetheoilsealinthewheelhub.
6.Installthewheelhubontothespindle.
7.Installgreasedouterbearingcone,tabwasher,andnutontothespindleshaft.
8.Whilerotatingthewheelhubbyhand,torquethenutto8.5to20.3N∙m(75
to180in-lb)toseatbearings.Loosenthenutuntilitisawayfromthetab
washerandthewheelhubhasend-play.Finally,whilerotatingthewheel
hub,tightenthenutto1.7to2.3N∙m(15to20in-lb).
9.Installthenutretainerandanewcotterpintosecurethenut.Installthe
dustcap.
10.Securewheelrimtothewheelhubwithfourlugnuts.Torquethenutsfrom
61to88N·m(45to65ft-lb).
11.Lowertherearwheeltotheground.
12.Securethehydrauliccylindertotherearforkasfollows:
A.Swingcylindertotherearfork.
B.Installtheballjointstotherearfork.
C.Secureballjointtotherearforkwithbothjamnuts.Torquethenutsfrom
115to156N·m(85to115ft-lb).
