8 RELIEVING RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
Proceed as follows to reduce the residual pressure in the
hydraulic circuits (adhere to the order of the individual work
steps):
1. Lower the loader lift arms as far as they will go.
2. Turn off the engine.
3. Immediately after turning off the engine, actuate all the
control levers and pedals for the hydraulic system several
times in all directions.
4.
Relieve the hydraulic reservoir by opening the ller neck,
illustration 1 (Fig. 59).
5.
Remove the preload from the drive‘s system by opening
the return lter, illustration 2 (Fig. 59).
WARNING
Personal injury hazard.
A ne jet of hydraulic uid under high pressure
can pierce the skin. Seek medical assistance im-
mediately if you get hydraulic uid in your eyes or
on your skin.
► Open only unpressurized hydraulic systems.
Residual hydraulic pressure can still be present in
the working hydraulic circuits after the loader lift
arms and attachment are resting on the ground
or working surface.
►
Do not attempt repair work on hydraulic cir-
cuits until the temperature of the components
is comfortable to touch (typically less than 49°C
(120°F)).
