Remove the fasteners on the cover Item 2 (Fig. 74) and
take off the cover.
2. Remove the main lter element Item 1 (Fig. 75). Do not
remove the safety lter element in the process.

Perform a visual inspection of the intake manifold be-
tween the lter and the engine for leaks and tight t. The
intake manifold must not display any exterior damage.
4.
Clean the main lter element (knock off lightly and blow
out with compressed air from the inside to the outside).
Should the main lter element be too dirty or damaged,
replace it.
Install a new or cleaned main lter element, repeating the
steps in the reverse order.
Before installing a new or cleaned main lter element, reset
the maintenance display. After the engine has been allowed
to run, the red cover should no longer be visible in the
inspection glass in the maintenance display. Should this
nevertheless be the case, replace the safety lter.
Checking / changing the safety lter
Should it be apparent while servicing the dry air lter that a
maintenance fault was present or that the main lter element
is damaged, replace the safety lter element Item 2 (Fig. 75).

Remove the three fasteners on the cover Item 2 (Fig. 74).

3. Pull out the main lter element Item 1 (Fig. 75).
4. Pull out the safety lter element Item 2 (Fig. 75).
5. Insert a new safety lter element..
Assembly takes place in the reverse order.
Replace the safety lter if necessary, and at least
after cleaning the main lter for the fth time.
