TIGHTENING TORQUES

Cy linder head bolt
1. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (2.5 m-kgf, 18 fl·lbf) with a torque wrench followi ng the tighten in g order.
2. Perform t
he fo ll owing procedure to all the bolts one by one in the tighte ni ng sequence as shown in
the illustration.
a. Loosen the bolt.
b. Tighten the bolt to 16 Nm (1.6 m-kgf, 12 ft ·l bf) with a torque wrench.
c. Tighten the bolt further to reach the specified angle 90°.

Connec ting rod bolt
1. Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (2.0 m-kgf, 14 ft-lbf)
2. Tighten the bolts further to reach the specified angle 175°- 185°.

C ra nkcase bolt (main jour na l)
1 . Lub
ri cate t he bolt threads and both sides of the washers with engine o il.
2. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (2.5 m·kgf, 18 fl·lbf) in the order shown in the i ll ustration.
3. Fully loosen the bolt
"1 ", and then tighten t he bolt again to the specified torque shown below. Repeat
this, one by one, until bolt "8
", in the order shown in the illustration.
Ti ghtening torque
Bolts
"1" to " 6": 15 Nm (1.5 m·k gf , 11 fl·lbf)
Bolts
"7" and "8": 18 Nm (1.8 m· kg f, 13 fl·lbf)
4. Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the
ill ustration to the specified angle 60°.
