11 Generic procedures
11.1 Install a cable lug on a wire
Preliminary requirements
• Wire cutter
• Wire stripper pliers
• Crimp plier
•
• Cable lug
Procedure
1. Make sure that the diameter of the
cable lug is correct. The cable lug must
be compatible with the wire.
2. Strip the insulation from the wire. The
stripped length must be the same as
the length of the cavity of the cable
lug.
3. Insert the conductor of the wire into
the cavity of the cable lug.
4. Install the cable lug on the wire. Use
the crimp plier.
11.2 Install a ferrule on a wire
