Pinnacle™ Plus+ 10 kW
OUTPUT POWER CABLE RECOMMENDATIONS
Choosing the appropriate output power cable for your Pinnacle Plus+ supply will
produce the best process results. For UHF connectors, RG393 cable is recommended.
For two-pin pluggable connectors, twisted pair cable with an external shield is
recommended, or RG393 for use with PG-11 style strain relief connectors.
In general, the shortest cable will give you the widest process window and the best
results; cables should be no longer than 3.05 m (10 ´). Long cables may cause the
Pinnacle Plus+ supply to turn off because of excessive reflected power.
Operating and maintenance personnel must receive proper training
before installing, troubleshooting, or maintaining high-energy electrical
equipment. Potentially lethal voltages could cause death, serious
personal injury, or damage to the equipment. Ensure that all appropriate
safety precautions are taken.
To meet EMI /EMC requirements the shield of the output cable must be
connected to the shell of the UHF connector, or the shell of the two-
terminal connector.
A triax cable will allow a floating output of the power supply, but the
center connector has to carry the high voltage to ground potential. No
terminal should exceed 1700 V to ground (peak).
Improper connection to the output connector could hamper
operation of the Pinnacle Plus+ unit. If you are unsure how to
connect your output cable between the Pinnacle Plus+ unit and your
chamber, please contact AE Customer Support.
Never use an output power cable longer than 9.15 m (30 ´) or damage to
your Pinnacle Plus+ unit may result.
