Making a call transfer with a shortcut key1
About this task2
If the caller needs the information that you cannot provide, you can transfer the ongoing call to 3
another user using an Autodial key or a contact as shortcuts.4
Note:
The actual key used for a shortcut action depends on the current configuration.5
Depending on the configuration set by the system administrator, the phone might make a blind 6
transfer or an attended transfer immediately after the Transfer soft key is pressed. Contact your 7
system administrator for more details.8
Before you begin9
Ensure the following:10
• If the configured shortcut is a BLF key, the required user is idle.11
• The administrator has set the shortcut action for the key as call transfer.12
Procedure13
1. While on an active call, depending on the configuration, do one of the following on the 14
Phone screen:15
• Press the Autodial or Contact line key.16
• Scroll to the required Autodial line or contact and press Transfer.17
The phone displays the Transfer now or talk with [BLF user extension]? 18
confirmation window.19
2. Press one of the following:20
• Now: To immediately transfer the call to the selected user.21
The phone displays the Incoming Call screen with the extension the call was transferred 22
to until the user answers the call.23
• Talk: To place the call on hold, and to talk with the user first.24
3. (Optional) If the user does not answer the BLF shortcut transferred call, press one of the 25
following in the Incoming Call screen:26
• Pickup: to answer the call on your phone.27
• Ignore: to end the call.28

About this task30
If you need to include the other agent in your conversation with the caller, you can add an Autodial 31
user or a contact to an active call to set up a conference call.32
