Total volume Volume pipetted into well – aspirated excess volume
Aspirated excess

Standard mode = 20 !L
Available volume Volume pipetted into well – aspirated excess volume – dead volume
Minimum volume 50 !L for both standard and high-throughput modes for 96-well
plates
Mixing volume Volume one-half the available volume
NOTICE A mixing volume that is larger than the available volume
introduces air bubbles into the sample.
