Used airway adapters shall be disposed of in accordance with local
regulations for medical waste.
Use only PHASEIN manufactured oxygen sensor cells. Depleted
oxygen sensors shall be disposed of in accordance with local regulations
for batteries.
Do not use the IRMA Adult/Pediatric airway adapter with infants as
the adapter adds 6 ml dead space to the patient circuit.
Do not use the IRMA Infant airway adapter with adults as this may
cause excessive flow resistance.
Measurements can be affected by mobile and RF communications
equipment. It should be assured that the IRMA probe is used in the
electromagnetic environment specified in this manual.
Do not place the IRMA airway adapter between the endotracheal tube
and an elbow as this may allow patient secretions to block the adapter
windows and result in incorrect operation. Shown as follows:
To keep secretions and moisture from pooling on the windows or
oxygen sensor port, always position the IRMA probe in a vertical position
with the LED pointing upwards. Shown as follows:
Do not use the IRMA airway adapter with metered dose inhalers or
nebulized medications as this may affect the light transmission of the
airway adapter windows.
Do not try to open the oxygen sensor assembly. The oxygen sensor is a
disposable product and contains a caustic electrolyte and lead.
The IRMA sensor is intended only as an adjunct in patient assessment.
It must be used in conjunction with other assessments of clinical signs
and symptoms.
