INSTALLATION
1. See Figure 2-51. Connect remote reservoir.
a. If removed, attach remote reservoir to frame using
screw. Tighten to 12-15 in-lbs (1.4-1.7 Nm).
b. If removed, attach reservoir hose to master cylinder
with clamp.
2. See Figure 2-52. Apply Loctite 243 (blue) to both screws.
Attach master cylinder to frame with spacers between
master cylinder and footrest support. Tighten to 48-72 in-
lbs (5-8 Nm).
11WARNING1WARNING
Use only new copper banjo washers (See Parts Catalog
for Part No.) with D.O.T. 4 brake fluid. Earlier silver banjo
washers are not compatible with D.O.T. 4 fluid and will
not seal properly over time. Failure to comply may
adversely affect braking ability and lead to brake failure
which could result in death or serious injury.

Avoid leakage. Be sure gaskets, banjo bolt(s), brake line
and master cylinder bore are clean and undamaged
