Beforeoperatingthemachine,checkforcorrectoperationofsteering,brakes,hydrauliccontrols,
instruments,andsafetyequipment.Makesurethetransmissioncontrolleverisintheneutralposition.
Makealladjustmentsbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Failuretocomplycouldresultindeathorseriousinjury.

NOTICE:Runningtheengineatidleforanextendedtime(6hoursmaximum)isnotrecommended.Damagetothe
SCRmufermayoccur.Afteranextendedidleperiod,operatethemachineunderloadforaminimumof30minutes.
1.TurnthemasterdisconnectswitchtotheONposition.
2.T akeupthecorrectpositionintheoperator'sseatwiththeseatbeltcorrectlyfastened.Makesureyoucanpush
thefootpedalcompletelydownwithyourbackagainsttheseatcushion.
3.Makesuretheparkingbrakeisengaged.
4.MakesuretheequipmentcontrolleversareinNEUTRALwiththeequipmentontheground.
NOTE:ThedirectioncontrollevermustbeinNEUTRALortheenginewillnotcrank.
5.TurnthekeyswitchtotheONposition,andchecktheinstrumentindicators.
6.Keepallunauthorizedpersonnelclearofthearea.
7.Soundthehorntoalertothersofyourintenttostarttheengine.
8.TurnthekeyswitchtotheSTARTpositionuntiltheenginestarts,thenreleasethekey.
NOTICE:Donotoperatethestartermotormorethan30satonetime.Letthestartermotorcoolfor3minbefore
youengagethestartermotoragain.Whilethestartermotorisengaged,whiteorblacksmokemustbeseenat
theexhaustpipe.Checkthefuelsupplyifnosmokeisseen.
9.Checktheinstrumentstomakesuretheindicationsarecorrectaftertheenginestarts.Runtheengineatlowidle
withthetransmissioninneutraluntiltheenginecoolanttemperatureiswarm.
NOTICE:Operatethemachineatreducedloadsuntilallsystemsreachoperatingtemperature.Thisisvery
importantduringextremelycoldweatheroperationtoprotectboththeengineandhydraulicsystems.
Enginespeed
DONOTOPERATEtheengineatidlespeedforlongperiods.Thiscancausealowoperatingtemperature.Alow
operatingtemperaturecancauseacidsanddepositsintheengineoil.
Runtheengineatlowidleforaminuteatstartupbeforepickingupspeedandload.
Alwaysbringtheenginetolowidleforafewminutestoletallpartscoolevenlybeforeshutdown.
NOTICE:Alwaysshuttheenginedownfromthelowestidletopreventdamagetotheturbocharger.
