faceprotection,hardhat,heavygloves,ltermask,andhearingprotection.
Failuretocomplycouldresultindeathorseriousinjury.

Followthemaintenanceintervalsbycheckingthehourmetereveryday.Beforestartingmaintenance,parkthema-
chineonat,rmground,awayfromanyobstacles,withtheattachmentsontheground.Keepallunauthorized
personnelclearofthearea.Unlessotherwisespecied,allmaintenanceoperationsshouldbecarriedoutwith:

theenginestopped
•
themachineparkedonarm,levelsurface
•
theparkingbrakeengaged
•
thekeyremovedfromthekeyswitch
•
a"DONOTOPERATE"tagonthekeyswitch
•
wheelchocksblockingthetracks
•
allcircuitscooleddownpriortostartingwork
•
allhydraulicpressurereleased
•
anyaccumulatorpressurereleasedfortheappropriatecircuit
Cleanthegreasettingsbeforelubrication.Cleanaroundplugsandllerholesbeforeaddinguid.Nodustordirt
mustenterthecomponentsorthecircuits.Wearsuitableclothing,andusethenecessarysafetyequipment.
PlaceaDoNotOperatetagontheinstrumentpanelorkeyswitchwhenperformingserviceworkonthemachine.
Turnoffengine,andremovethekeybeforeleavingoperator'scompartment.
Anymodicationtothismachinewithoutpriorauthorizationcouldcauseseriousinjury.Donotmakeanymodications
withoutauthorization.Consultyourauthorizeddealer.
Theserviceintervalsinthischapterrefertonormaloperatingconditions.Duringtherstoperationperiodofanew
machineorrebuiltcomponentandunderparticularlysevereconditions,theserviceintervalsshouldbecarriedout
morefrequently.
Takeparticularcaretoreplaceallltersregularly.Cleanltersmeanlongerenginerunninglife.
Oilsanduidsmustbedisposedofproperly.
