Cleanthetracksandundercarriageasrequiredorattheendoftheworkshift.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface
topreventdistortionofthetrackseals.Ifthetemperatureiscold,parkthemachineonasurfacethatwillnotfreeze
tothetrackshoes.
Checkthetracktensionat100hourswhenthemachineisnewduringtheinitialrun-inperiodorifthetrackhasbeen
replaced.Checkthetracktensionfrequentlywhenyouoperate.Checkthetracktensionmoreoftenwhenworkingin
extremeconditions.Whenmaterialpacksandcollectsontheundercarriagepartsthetracksmaybecometootight.
Correcttrackadjustmentwillhelpcontrolundercarriagewear.Maintaincorrecttracktension.
Prioroperation:
Keepallunauthorizedpersonnelclearofthearea.Parkthemachineonlevelground,inneutralwiththeparking
brakeapplied,andtheattachmentloweredtotheground.Turnofftheengine,andremovethekey.Makesurethat
allresidualpressureisrelievedfromcircuitsbeforebeginningmaintenance.
Tracktensioncheck
1.Inastraightpath,movethemachinebackwardthe
lengthofthetrack,andthenforwardthelengthofthe
track.Thiswillensurethatthebottomofthetrackis
tight.Donotusethebrakestostopthemachine.
2.Slowlystopthemachinesothatapin(1)inthetrack
chainisoverthefrontcarrierroller(2)—therollernear-
estthefrontidler.
3.Parkthemachineonlevelground,inneutralwiththe
parkingbrakeapplied.
4.Lowertheattachmenttotheground.
5.Turnofftheengine,andremovethekey.
6.Standonthetracksbetweenthefrontandrearcarrier
rollers,andthenbetweenthefrontidlerandthefront
carrierroller.

7.Placeastraightedgeoverthetrack,andmeasurethe
trackdeection(sag)midwaybetweenthefrontcarrier
rollerandtheidlerwheel.
8.Thenplaceastraightedgeoverthetrack,andmeasure
thetrackdeection(sag)midwaybetweenthetwocar-
rierrollers.
9.Averagethetwomeasurementsandadjustthetrackto
averagebetween44.50-58.00mm(1.75-2.25in).
