Typical dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) applications might include:
3 ONS 15454 shelves
1 Dispersion Compensating Unit (DCU)
7 patch panels (or fiber-storage trays), in either 1rack unit (RU) or 2 RU sizes
1RU: Fiber-storage tray and 64-channel patch panel
2 RU: Y-cable patch panel, 64-channel patch panel, 80-channel patch panel, and mesh patch panel
(4 or 8 degree)
Or, alternatively:
3 ONS 15454 shelves
2 DCUs
6 standard patch-panel trays (or fiber-storage trays), or 3 deep patch-panel trays, in either 1 RU or 2 RU
sizes
1RU: Fiber-storage tray and 64-channel patch panel
