Changing or Deleting a Power-On or Setup Password
An established power-on password or setup password can be
changed only at the password prompt window.
The password prompt window for an established power-on
password appears on the screen when the computer is turned on.

Compaq Utilities.

To change a password,
type the old password once and then
type the new password twice. Separate each password with the
password delimiter for your keyboard. For example, if you are
using a United Kingdom keyboard, type
oldpassword/newpassword/newpassword
Then press
Enter
. The password is changed.

To delete a password,
type the current password followed by
the delimiter for your keyboard. For example, if you are using
a Belgian keyboard, type
currentpassword=
Then press
Enter
. The password is deleted.
Keyboards vary by language. Password delimiters vary by
keyboard. The following table shows the password delimiter to
use with your keyboard.
