Removing a Hard Drive from the Hard Drive Bay
Before removing a hard drive, Compaq recommends that you back
up all information on the hard drive.
To remove the hard drive from the hard drive bay:
1. Save your work, exit all applications, and shut down
the computer.
2. Tilt the computer
1
to access the hard drive bay
release mechanisms.
3. If the hard drive has been secured in the hard drive bay with a
single-bay
2
security screw or a dual-bay security screw,
remove the screw with the Torx T-10 screwdriver included
with the computer.
4. Slide the hard drive release latch
3 left while pulling the hard
drive from the recess 4 beneath the hard drive bay. This
releases the hard drive from the hard drive bay.
