Initiating Power Conditions
This section tells when to turn the computer on and off and how to
use Suspend and Hibernation. The following table describes the
operations; the following sections describe each power condition.
Initiating Power Conditions from the Keyboard
Operation Procedure Indicator
Turn computer on. Slide power
switch.
NOTE: If
restarting, wait
about 10
seconds after
turning off the
computer.
Power/suspend
light turns on.
If computer was
in Suspend or
Hibernation, the
system beeps
once and your
work returns to
the screen.
Turn computer off when
using Windows.
1. Save your
work and
exit all
applications.
2. Click
StartÆShut
DownÆShut
Down the
ComputerÆ
Yes.
Power/suspend
light turns off.
Initiate Suspend. Press suspend
button.
Power/suspend
light blinks.
Screen is blank.
System beeps
twice.
Exit Suspend.
NOTE: If the system
initiated Suspend
because of a critical low-
battery condition, the
computer may not exit
Suspend until the
low-battery condition
is resolved.
Press suspend
button.
Power/suspend
light stops
blinking and
turns on.
Your work
returns to
the screen.
System beeps
once.
