Preparing for a Technical Support Call
You may be able to resolve the problem using “Troubleshooting”
in the online Reference Guide or in Chapter 16 of this guide. If
not, run the diagnostic utilities described in Chapter 14,
“Computer Setup and Diagnostics,” and have the following
available when you call:
The computer.
Serial number (on the bottom of the computer).
Date of purchase (on invoice).
Conditions under which the problem occurred.
Error messages that occurred.
Hardware configuration.
Type of printer connected.
Hardware and software that you are using.
Your Windows 95 product identification number (PIN). To
locate your PIN number, click StartÆSettingsÆControl
PanelÆdouble-click the System iconÆGeneral tab. Your PIN
number is below your name.
