Sterilization with ethylene oxide
Only the sensor cell of the O2 sensor can be sterilized in
this way – no other parts! Maximum temperature: 50 °C.
Flash-off time: at least 24 hours at 50 °C with 60-fold
exchange of air. This impairs the service life of the
O2 cell!
Steam sterilization at 121 or 134 °C
Cato parts which can be sterilized in this way are listed
in the table on page 87.
Steam sterilization must be preceded by sterilization with
moist heat and/or wipe cleaning. All parts must be dry!
Steam sterilization is only required after treating an
infectious patient!
Minimum exposure times: 20 minutes at 121 °C and
10 minutes at 134 °C. Parts should preferably be
sterilized at 134 °C since less time is required for the
procedure.
