Preliminary tension
The preliminary tensioner (1) holds the thread in position if the
main tensioner (3) and additional tensioner (2) are completely
open.
Automatic
thread cutter
For machines with automatic thread cutter:
The preliminary tension (1) also determines the length of the
initial thread for the new seam:
Short initial thread:
1. Turn the adjusting screw of the pre-tensioner (1) clockwise.
Long initial thread:
1. Turn the adjusting screw of the pre-tensioner (1) counterclock-
wise.
