The system includes a gas filter correlation wheel. It contains three parts which improve the
accuracy of the measurements: CO, N
2
and a mask.
The CO cell contains a particular saturation of CO (40 %) and thus helps to create a ref-
erence beam as it absorbs a known amount of light.
The N
2
cell contains 100% N
2
. It does not absorb IR radiation at a wavelength of 4.7 µm
and is therefore used during the normal measurement of CO.
The cover completely blocks the light source. It is used to determine background signals
in relation to each other and in relation to the background.
