The system includes a gas filter correlation wheel. It contains three parts which improve the
accuracy of the measurements: CO, N
2
and a mask.
 The CO cell contains a particular saturation of CO (40 %) and thus helps to create a ref-
erence beam as it absorbs a known amount of light.
 The N
2
cell contains 100% N
2
. It does not absorb IR radiation at a wavelength of 4.7 µm
and is therefore used during the normal measurement of CO.
 The cover completely blocks the light source. It is used to determine background signals
in relation to each other and in relation to the background.
